“Better than on TV!”

Jeremy Orton saw our segment on the Travel Channel and called immediately to book a shark fishing adventure for his family.

The Orton family from Utah – Jeremy, Candice, Lindsey and Makalyn – were scheduled for a Caribbean cruise to depart from south Florida.  When they saw the SeaSquared shark fishing adventure on the Travel Channel, they decided to come to Florida a couple of days early to get in on the action.

Since I’ve been shark fishing all week, I told my toothy friends about the Orton’s upcoming trip and asked that they don’t disappoint them.  Trusty adventure companions that they are, they performed to perfection.

Makalyn was the first one hooked up …

… and she caught the largest of today’s lemon sharks – a big girl every bit of 8 feet long.

Everyone got their chance at the rod and, by the end of the day, 11 lemons were caught and released.

Jeremy told me the sharks fought much better than the tiger muskies back home.

They wanted the complete Travel Channel experience, so they had dinner at Porky’s Bayside Restaurant, complete with their signature fried key lime pie for dessert!

From there, they went to the Old Seven Mile Bridge for one of Marathon’s breath-taking sunsets.

With their adventure fulfilled, Jeremy assured us they would be the only family on their cruise to have caught sharks in the Florida Keys!

SeaSquared Charters practices 100% catch-and-release shark fishing using non-harmful circle hooks.  All sharks are released unharmed.
