I had to check for fins and gills … the Garcia kids sure do know fish and fishing!
Ted and Carol Garcia, from Ft. Mill SC, are frequent visitors to Marathon Florida Keys. And their kids – Jacqueline, Bibi and Cooper – are no strangers to a rod and reel.
They had a blast on a three-quarter day charter fishing the reef and caught almost more fish than we could count. Twenty-five yellowtail snapper from 14 to 18 inches, four mangroves from three to five pounds, a nice six-pound mutton and a 28-inch black grouper.
As I was cleaning their fish, Ted asked to keep one of the larger mangrove snappers whole so his mom in Miami could prepare it traditional Cuban style. Yum!
