Marathon Florida Keys Fishing Report, Capt. Chris Johnson, SeaSquared Charters, April 7, 2011
Danny and Adrienne Fuston, from Buford GA, treated their nine-year-old son, Will, to an afternoon of snapper fishing with me on the SeaSquared.
With a big predator problem at one of my favorite snapper spots during the morning charter, I chose another good spot on the shallow reef in about 35 feet of water. Unfortunately, the sharks were there too and were also looking for a snapper dinner. Danny, Adrienne and Will did a great job wrangling the snappers and put a good catch together that included a monster 25 1/4-inch flag yellowtail along with a bunch of its 14-inch cousins.
The family was staying at the Grassy Key RV Park, and Mom and Dad readily admitted they were challenged to keep Will entertained. I guess the fishing trip did the trick, as their comments on our Facebook page attest to:
Adrienne : For the 1st time all week, he finally was worn out and went to bed early tonight…great job, Capt. Chris!
Danny: I’ll bet Capt Chris went to bed early also. He had to be worn out answering all the questions 🙂
You’re very welcome, Danny and Adrienne. Can’t wait to have you all back on the boat!
