Lost count on our first shark adventure of 2012!

A group from the Jennings Community Learning Center, in St. Paul MN, kicked off SeaSquared’s 2012 shark adventure season.

Jennings Community Learning Center believes “that students learn best through meaningful experiences, and our philosophy compels our actions in so many ways.”

We think the five students and one teacher we had on board today fulfilled the school’s mission of combining academic content with travel.

For the first time since November, we set off to our shark hunting grounds and were thrilled to see our old friends there waiting for us.  It’s as if they got the Tweet.

We put the chum in the water and had them swimming and feeding around the boat in less than five minutes.

Each member of the group caught and released at least one shark, for a total of 15 in their four-hour adventure.

They caught mostly lemons, one nurse and one blacktip that gave us all quite the show with its acrobatics.

SeaSquared Charters practices 100% catch-and-release shark fishing using non-harmful circle hooks.  All sharks are released unharmed.
