Pittsburgh family is rewarded with good eats after a day of Florida Keys fishing

Captain’s Blog – June 18, 2010 – Marathon Florida Keys – Florida Keys snapper and grouper for family from Pennsylvania.

The Thompson family from the Pittsburgh area took a break from relaxing at Tranquility Bay Resort to do a little fishing with SeaSquared Charters.

Dad Andy had already had an awesome flats experience with a noted Middle Keys guide.  The trip with me was all about family fun fishing with good eats at the end of the day.

I took them to the Marathon reef where the action has been on fire for quite a few weeks.  We came back to the dock with a nice bunch of yellowtail snapper up to 23 inches, a big mangrove snapper and a bonus 18-pound black grouper caught by Jarett Thompson.  The group enjoyed part of their catch cooked for lunch at Burdine’s.

Summer is the time of year when nearly every group on the SeaSquared is a family.  We love watching the kids grow up as they come back to fish with us year after year.
