Plant City FL group catches dolphin and snapper in the Florida Keys

Marathon Florida Keys Fishing Report – Captain Chris Johnson, SeaSquared Charters – August 3, 2010

This group of family and friends from Plant City FL spend a good part of each summer on vacation in Marathon Florida Keys.  This year, they included a day of fishing with SeaSquared Charters.

Dolphin was their target, so we headed offshore in search of birds, weed lines, debris …. or all three.  I had success the previous day about 18 miles south of Sombrero Light, and the same area was alive with action on this outing.

There were no monster fish for us, but the guys put plenty of schoolies and nice gaffer-size dolphin in the cooler.  They even added a few yellowtail and mangrove snapper to the catch.

Back at the dock, all agreed the fishing was almost as much fun as time spent together on the water in the Florida Keys!  The group included Nate Davis, Chris Brewington and brothers Steve and Tommy Bonds.

See you next time, guys!
