We’d like to start this fishing report by thanking the Framptons and the Sadlers for making SeaSquared Charters part of their very special vacation.
Les and Kathy Frampton, from St. Michaels MD, and Roy and Colleen Sadler, from Tilghman MD, set off on a two-week adventure which included a fishing trip with us. Kathy and Colleen are sisters, but the four of them just seem like the best of buddies.
They had scheduled one of our “Dinner and a Show” trips – a combination of snapper fishing (dinner) and catch-and-release shark fishing (the show).
We started the day fishing for mangrove snapper in Florida Bay. Conditions were great and the gang caught a nice mess of mangies.
With dinner in the fish box, it was time for the show.
As we get later in the year, I get a tad anxious about shark fishing as a drop in temperature or extreme rain can turn them off the bite. But, my shark pets did not disappoint us today! They were in our usual spot and hungry to eat.
Everyone had their chance at the prize.
The girls each landed three and the guys each got one – all lemon sharks anywhere from five to seven feet in length.
The troop was staying at Captain Pip’s Marina and Hideaway – a favorite with our clients – so cook-your-catch dinner at Porky’s was a no-brainer!
