The Womack gang, from Arcadia FL, kicked off their Florida Keys vacation with a little fishing on the reef.
They brought their own boat down and planned to test their skills with some lobstering. But, first things first, and they went out with SeaSquared Charters to catch some tasty snapper for dinner.
This time of year, most of our really large fish have moved to deeper waters where the cooler temperatures are more comfortable for them. That doesn’t mean there still isn’t plenty of fun-catching and good-eating fish to be had on the reef and patches.
And, the Womack family proved just that! With rods bent the whole time, they caught loads of fish and kept a nice bunch of 13- to 15-inch yellowtail snappers. Plenty for a feast back at their campground.
