Tom and Christy DeBartolo, from St. Louis MO, treated their four college age kids to a Thanksgiving in Marathon.
Marathon Florida Keys Fishing Report – Captain Chris Johnson, SeaSquared Charters, November 25, 2010
The DeBartolos purchased a vacation home in Marathon about a year ago and the family gathered there for Thanksgiving this year. Since it was a year to create new traditions, they included a half day of fishing.
Since the family members are mostly admitted novices to fishing, I opted for the calm waters of Florida Bay. We targeted snapper and mackerel, always sure fire for constant rod bending. The gang caught mangrove snapper, a 25-inch gag grouper caught by Tom and all the mackerel anyone could possible handle, including one very large 10-pound cero that Lucy landed.
Back at the dock, the family agreed it was a very enjoyable way to spend Thanksgiving. The crew was Tom and Christy DeBartolo and their children Mary, Gil, Ann and Lucy.
