Wayne and Peggy Fox, from Ludington MI, didn’t know what to expect from their first Florida Keys fishing trip.
The pair is staying at beautiful Conch Key Cottages and truly enjoying their first visit to the Keys, including a half day of fishing with SeaSquared Charters.
We went to Hawk Channel, where I can always count on a great variety of fish at the end of the hooks. Today we had yellowtail snapper along with all the porgy anyone could possibly want.
Wayne and Peggy also caught four gorgeous hogfish, including a whopper at 18 inches. They topped off their trip with a 25-pound kingfish.
They planned to cook their hogfish back at their place at Conch Key Cottages. I’m smoking their kingfish for them and sending it home to Michigan for their holiday festivities.
